Publix Schedule (Oasis) in Passport
How to find your shifts, when schedules post, how to request time off and swap shifts, and the hour limits that apply to teen associates.
The short answer
Your Publix schedule is inside Passport on publix.org. Log in, then open the scheduling section from the home page to see your shifts, hours and department for the coming weeks.
publix.org→PASSport→Schedule
Many associates and websites call this part of Passport “Oasis”. It’s the same place. You don’t need a separate login or app.
What to look for on your schedule
| On the schedule | What it tells you | Check this |
|---|---|---|
| Date and day | Which days you work this week and next | The week start day, so you don’t misread Sunday shifts |
| Start and end time | When you clock in and out | AM and PM, especially on closing shifts |
| Department or role | Where you’re working that shift | A different department can mean a different start time |
| Weekly total | Scheduled hours for the week | Compare against your availability and, for teens, the legal limits below |
| Days off | Days with no shift | Approved time off should show here once approved |
Menu labels inside Passport change from time to time. If you can’t find a button named “Schedule”, look for the scheduling or time section on the Passport home page.
When does the next schedule post?
Online guides disagree. Some say mid-week for the following week. Others say 2 weeks ahead. Publix doesn’t publish a single company-wide posting day on its public sites, and it can differ by store and department.
From the manager’s desk
In my stores, department schedules went up on Thursday for the week starting the following Sunday. That gave about five days of visibility.
Over 17 years as manager, the tool changed more than the timing: I watched us go from paper schedules taped in the back office, to Oasis on the break-room computer, to everyone checking on their own phone.
The reliable answer for your store: ask your department manager which day schedules post, then check Passport that day.
Check your schedule from your phone
- Open your phone’s browser and type publix.org. Use a bookmark after the first time.
- Sign in with your Publix user ID or Publix email and password.
- Approve the 2-step prompt in Microsoft Authenticator, or enter the text or call code.
- Open the scheduling section from the Passport home page.
- Take a screenshot of the week if you want it offline. Check again before each shift, because schedules can change.
No 2-step method set up yet? Do that first with the 2-step verification guide, ideally on a store computer.
How to request time off
- Pick your dates and check them against the posted schedule and any blackout periods your store uses.
- Open the scheduling section in Passport and submit a time-off request for those dates.
- Add a short reason if the form asks. Keep it simple: vacation, appointment, family event.
- Wait for your manager’s approval. A request isn’t final until it shows as approved.
- Check the new schedule when it posts to make sure the days are off.
From the manager’s desk
What got requests denied was almost never the reason; it was the timing. For Thanksgiving and Christmas week, I wanted requests six to eight weeks out, before I built the schedule. Two weeks before the holiday, everyone is fighting over the same three days. Ask early, ask in the system, and check that it says approved.
Change your availability
Availability is the set of days and hours you can work. Managers build the schedule around it, so an old availability gives you shifts you can’t take.
- Update it before the schedule for that week is written, not after it posts.
- Students: update at the start of each semester and again for summer.
- Second job or childcare change? Update it the same week the change happens.
- Tell your department manager in person too. It speeds up approval.
Swap a shift with a coworker
- Find a coworker in the same department who can work your shift and has the right training for it.
- Agree on the swap between yourselves first, including which shift each of you takes.
- Ask your department manager how your store handles swaps: in Passport or in person.
- Wait for approval. Until it’s approved, the original shift is still yours.
From the manager’s desk
From the manager’s side, an easy approval had three things going for it: the request sat in Passport (not just said in the hallway), you sent it before I wrote the schedule, and you had a plan for your shifts, such as a swap offer or someone covering.
Under 18? Federal hour limits that apply to you
Publix hires many students. Federal law limits when 14- and 15-year-olds can work. These limits come from the US Department of Labor.
| Rule for ages 14 and 15 | Limit |
|---|---|
| School day | 3 hours |
| School week | 18 hours |
| Non-school day | 8 hours |
| Non-school week | 40 hours |
| Time of day | 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (until 9 p.m. from June 1 through Labor Day) |
Federal law sets no hour limits for 16- and 17-year-olds. Your state may. When state and federal rules differ, the stricter one applies.
If your schedule looks over these limits, tell your manager before the shift. Source: US Department of Labor.
Overtime and closed days
Under federal law, hourly workers covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act get at least 1.5 times their regular rate for hours over 40 in a workweek (US Department of Labor). Check your pay statement the week after a long week.
Publix stores close on 3 days a year: Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter (USA TODAY Network-Florida). Store shifts don’t run on those days.
Schedule not showing? Quick fixes
| Problem | Likely cause | Try this |
|---|---|---|
| Next week is blank | Schedule not posted yet | Check again on your store’s posting day |
| Old schedule shows | Cached page | Refresh, or sign out and back in |
| Approved day off still shows a shift | Request approved after the schedule was written | Ask your manager to update it before the shift |
| Can’t sign in at all | Password, lockout or 2-step problem | Use the Passport login fixes |
Questions associates ask
Is Publix Oasis the same as Passport?
Oasis is the name many associates use for the scheduling part of Passport. You reach it through Passport on publix.org with the same login.
What day does Publix post schedules?
It depends on the store and department. Ask your department manager, then check Passport that day.
Can I see my Publix schedule on the PRO app?
Publix describes PRO as a product and inventory tool for store work. Use Passport for your schedule.
How far ahead should I request time off?
As early as you can, and before the schedule for that week is written. For major holiday weeks, 6 to 8 weeks ahead gives you the best chance.
Is a time-off request final once I submit it?
No. It’s final only when it shows as approved in Passport.
